Sounds like a sweet deal for him, and also sounds like something nobody should view as their long-term housing solution. Buying into a housing co-op or acquiring real estate lets you cut one big fat parasite out of your life.

If your parents are at all bearable and go along with it, just stay with them for a few years if possible while you save up for a place of your own. Saving 3 years worth of rent, utilities and food will easily buy you a decent place where you can coom in peace.
