I'm pretty leftly myself and I'm definitely annoyed by the whole thing, changing character identities over a translations is bullshit, especially something so rare like a gay guy in a Non BL Visual Novel And one that doesn't die and actually gets the dick. Unfortunately, translations became pretty much a political issue especially since twitter, so trying to discuss the whole thing is a minefield and it's full of people very opinionated about it that don't know a lick of Japanese.
