Massive Gou autism incoming.
I'm going to ommit the entire speculation about Satoko's motives and all the events not related to the main point from now on because it makes the post bloated. Instead I'm going to only focus on why the disemboweling scene from episode 16 is shown out of order. My previous post was a massive fuck up so forget about it, this time I double checked everything.
To summarize what the fuck is even wrong with the scene:
>Rika isn't suicidal during the current loop (eps 16.5-17)
>The riverside scene happens on 11th (4 additional sunsets between the river trip and Kentakun scene which happens on 15th in onidamashi)
>Rika is happy during the riverside scene because the loop didn't start on 12th which is a proper indication it might go well
>The theory that Rika's loops have been occuring progressively closer to the festival since Hanyuu's disappearance isn't only wrong because of the riverside scene. Nekodamashi starts on 12th and the disemboweling scene occurs on 12th with Rika waking up high as a kite.
>Rika STOPS having St. Lucia flashbacks after waking up under the tree. There's still a flashback showing Satoko gutting her though but it might be there for us. It isn't exactly presented as Rika's inner thoughts which would be in color, it's there to show the 'dream' is horrible.
>In Nekodamashi the calendar page showing us that Rika wakes up on 12th states that it's sunday and the number is red.The calendar is actually being shown twice, right after Rika wakes up the calendar shows incorrect day – June 21st , the number is red. It's actually the second time this number is being shown in weird circumstances – Kimiyoshi's swamp trip takes place on 21st and obliteraltes the theory of Rika's deaths being orchestrated to occur progressively faster. Probably just Passione's fuck up, but still interesting.
>Rika isn't suicidal in the current loop because she hasn't given up yet. But she'll probably stop counting her deaths now because there's hope. She has a clear enemy to defeat.
>Satoko is blaming Rika during the disembowelment scene because Rika is the one who destroys everything in the end by being suspicious. She isn't 'faking' anything, she really means it.
There's probably more to it but I'm getting tired of rewatching this shit over and over again.
