In my opinion, "good story" is there in order to flesh out the characters and give you a sense of attachment to the characters and/or involvement when their H-scenes come around, and make the whole thing feel natural, and more real. Whether it's a DEEP plot or just a set up designed to support the porn, just so long as it doesn't have shitty Deus Ex moments, or shitty plot contrivances to try and bundle in porn unnaturally (i.e. transferring mana, etc.)

Consider this for instance. If the game was just the H-scenes strung together with voicing, it would be pretty hot, but not nearly the game it was. The story really helped you feel for her, and the desperation and hopelessness of her situation, which really added to it.
