To be honest, I had less problems with the solution once I started to re-read it. I realized it wasn't much about the how (really, when you think about it, it's almost lame. Take Ep. 2, virtually everyone that wasn't the kids was on it to some level!) but rather trying to understand the why. In that sense, most of the mysteries exist to nudge you toward the fact that Shannon is Kanon and Kanon is Beatrice.

I do agree that R07's writing is definitely not perfect and the motive felt weak without our confession. I also liked that Yasu in the manga acknowledges that "It wasn't much as I didn't have options, as I didn't want to see them".
