The Marine's objective is to seize and hold the northernmost tip of Misty Lake, for unknown reasons, perhaps as a beachhead for a larger force to invade Gensokyo. Their victory conditions are keeping the area secure from from any youkai, hostile or not for one hour.

Their squad is composed of 3 fireteams of 4 men, each with 1 M203 grenade launcher and M249 SAW(beltfed automatic weapon, high capability) at their disposal in addition to standard rifles, (M16A4).

They magically appear through the portal 1 kilometer west of the lake and do not have any support such as air, armor or other organic elements such as sniper teams.

The marines are following real world rules, shooting to kill with real bullets.

Cirno has no knowledge of the marines capabilities and would assume at first they are harmless humans who passed through the magical border.
