>/a/ confuses me really, what is accepted there and what is not?
Back when there's no /jp/, Touhou and VNs thread are getting popular that it irks the majority of Anime/Manga audience. Despite the fact that Japanese modern visual culture are centered on the triad of VN, Anime, and Manga (combined with other products like Drama CDs, Doujinshi, and Light Novel), /a/ wants to stick with just Anime/Manga, hence they complain to moot, resulting in split.

The conception of Katawa Shoujo also originates in pre-split /a/, back when everyone are still optimistic and having enough creative drive. That's why Katawa Shoujo despite of being a VN, are accepted well in /a/ due to oldfags' nostalgia.

Now with the trend of cross-medium adaption, from Manga>Anime to VN>Anime, some interest to VN grows at /a/ newfags as well, creating the problem discussed in this thread. Those who have experienced the split years ago are sure to feel bitter when they (/a/) only pay attention to this medium just now.
