I've been thinking about that a bit.

Even without assuming that the reasons behind her actions stated in SoPM are just speculation by Akyuu, it seems weird. If Futo wanted to serve Miko alone she could have just simply not told Tojiko anything and let her die as a regular mortal. But she choose to tell her so she could trick her, which doesn't make any sense.

The only reason I could think of is, that perhaps Futo was scared Tojiko would find the plan out somehow and sabotage it. And thus she needed to be tricked into believing she was part of the plan. But that doesn't seem to have worked anyway seeing as they got stuck in there for 1400 years, due to spell put on there by Buddhists (incidentally Tojiko's kin).

The only reason that makes real sense, is if Futo knew that Tojiko would become an evil spirit, and that she needed to be deceived to become one. That way there'd be someone at all times guarding the graves of her and Miko, and that would be why she did it. But that might be farfetched.
