I somehow got it in my head that the fact checks were from someone else. Nevermind, that makes sense.
I guess Aya wrote the fact checks hoping to salvage the book somehow? She's writing notes that address a reader that will hopefully never exist. Guess she wasn't in the best state of mind at the time; realizing the work you're using to stay ahead of the curve that you put so much effort into is actually trash would be quite a blow.
