Yup. With that artstyle it looks like she's missing a nose. The face looks wrong. Ryukishi's style doesn't have that problem.

I tried reading Higurashi a few years back. I was reading the mangagamer version, it was awful.
The cicada noises only looped for 5 seconds, the music was changed from the original, it just was bad.
I tried to look up ways to make it regular, but there were so many patches. I'm in the same boat as OP.
