Remilia Scarlet, Sakuya Izayoi, and Patchouli Knowledge have much less leeway to their names. Cirno could arguably be called Chirno or Chiruno, depending on how literal you want to get with names. I just accept the names as they come along and I'm pretty sure that in the early Windows games, the names were all in Japanese rather than English, so you wouldn't see names like Etarnity, but instead エテルニテ or something. I think the decision to add the extra 'n' is both for stylistic reasons (three-letter names aren't really common, especially one with only one consonant) and to emphasize how similar it is to the Om sound of prayer. Don't quote me on that though; I'm not the one who translated it.
