Perhaps its a matter of what the woman wants. If she has some emotional attachment to a scar or other injure, feels it an important part of her identity, etc. then she could retain it. Otherwise, one can surmise most things get fixed.

Well one rule of the setting is that monsters are all youthful to one degree or another, so the visibly oldest you'll get are the mature ara ara types. As such, anyone monsterized who is older looking than that will get younger looking.
