I mean, not having the entire universe lore planned from the start isn't a big issue. The problem is introducing someone like Eua and not elaborating at all on her existence in spite of the meaning it has.

That arc really doesn't fit with Eua's existence though. Even Mei has thrown out Hairyuun, showing just standard Hanyuu in flashbacks to the ancient past, and has explicitly shown the scrolls with that story were wrong (with Rika believing in the Onigari was in the swamp like in that arc, but it was actually in the shrine like in Gou/Sotsu).

The main issue is that R07 just left Hanyuu's origin completely vague now.

I mean, we know Hanyuu is damaged from the start. Eua kept talking about that.

It's hard to say what that means regarding Hanyuu though since they never wanted to elaborate on their relationship.
