Yeah. Right now i'm wondering if anki and tae kim is enough. It probably isn't. I need to "understand" the kanji as I never learned radicals, so i should probably find like a guide to understanding kanji radicals or something.

In terms of "reading small amounts of japanese on the web", i use this site to talk to some friends so i'm grasping it slowly but surely
