That's just wrong at many levels (starting from being an ad populum). Say, you think homophonic/tonal music (from Mozart to grunge, jpop, cumbia or whatever; it's all tonal) is "good" and easy listening just because it has indeed been shoved not just right into your ears from the moment you were born, but also into your parents' and grandparents' ears and long way back to Rameau's installing of the system. In other words, you immediately perceive it as good/actual music just because that's all you've ever heard of and told is possible. But if you were born, say, in rural Mongolia, Music would be something very different comprised by stuff that we westerns need of concepts such as overtones, microtonality and polyphony to understand, and which gave rise to atonality, integral serialism, stochastic pieces and a whole lot of other stuff in the west that you wouldn't immediately acknowledge as music, which of course begs for the question of what is music at all...

That is why you need specialized knowledge about it: to not being, effectively, someone who just listens and takes for good what was shoved into him for centuries.

I want to see a real documentary about AKB. Maybe a non-official one that actually shows the background stories of the main members, like those heart-warming true stories. Also some real commentary on "idols you can meet" and the scandals they've had. So far their documentaries have just been mostly crying backstage.

Those are fair points. However, apart from very specific examples (augmented 4th, polyphony and greek modes in metal, Arvo Pärt's in Sigur Ros, Penderecki's in Jonny Greenwood...) I don't think rock at large watered that much from academic music either; if anything, XX century avant garde also researched in the far east, which could have served as a bridge but I don't think it was the case.

Anyway, I know all this might sound out place but I really think it's pertinent when trying to understand the success of AKB not despite but also thanks to their music. Being a rock and protest song guy most of my life, it surprised me immensely to find myself enjoying several 48/46G songs and be genuinely moved by some lyrics. However, I don't think I could possibly stand them if it wasn't for the charm of the idol concept and the wota cult fueling the entire thing (also meaning that once they graduate their possible solo careers are utterly irrelevant to me). --->
