Rereading Higurashi for the first time in probably a decade.
Before I started this reread I honestly forgot just how good it really was. I was almost scared I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much anymore and ruin my fond memories.

I'm up to Tsumihoroboshi right now and the scenes from Rena's PoV have me on the verge of tears.
I don't really remember much of the story details themselves, it's been forever after all, but what I do still remember is that when I first read this part forever ago I was struggling quite a lot IRL and going through pretty severe depression. Rena's story was probably one of the bigger things that finally caused me to go get help back then. It made a pretty lasting impact on my life.

I'm really happy I can still enjoy this series so much, no matter how jaded I've become over the years
