See how rival Youkai are handled in Dai-ichi: they are all aggressive, violent, and protecting their territories before everything else. Pretty much predators. Those same Youkai shares stories and have tea parties in Dai-ni.

Of all the chapters of Dai-ni, the only one to be serious are the Reaper of the Thirteenth Step and A Thistle For Vengeance. Even then, both of those chapters are only abstractly dark and do not go into details. The Boy's Portrait is goofy, My Best Friend is corny, and the others are funny, calm or peaceful.

Dai-ichi starts with a rape. The following chapters contains mass murders, mass rape, suicides, and innocents being eaten by Youkai in graphical details,

Dai-ni starts with a flower viewing. There's also a tea party where everyone goes along, a cute and goofy alternate universe story, a tale of friendship, and a coming of age story.
