Reposting this from a previous thread that didn't get archived since it's an interesting theory.

I read/listened to Haworthia recently and it seems to be the key to solving several of Ciconia's mysteries.
First off, 8MS is a translated form of the original Organics Automata. This much seems pretty obvious when you consider that they were designed to perform similar tasks and the origins of 8MS are unknown, as evidenced by how no one can find the people responsible for creating the 8MS once they start breaking down.

Going even further, It's likely that all wisdom is ancient technology from Haworthia's race.
It might seem like Haworthia takes place in the far future, possibly being the future that the three kings are trying to prevent, but there are too many references to prehistoric continents like Laurentia, Gondwanaland and Pangaea.
Not to mention, their projected average temperature seems to be referencing the ice age.
Pretty much everything points to Haworthia taking place on Earth, from the nitrogen content in the air falling to 78%, to the weather and temperature changes, and to the color of the ocean becoming blue.

If this is true, then it means that all life on Earth came from Organics Automata. Kyou and Suzu, the two Organics Automata girls, seem strange in this case though since there shouldn't be any kind of humanoid life this far back. However, they seem to be an exception. Just going off their designs, one represents the land and the other the sea. They could be guardians watching over life on Earth as it develops or something like that. It's not really clear. What is clear is that these two aren't the norm for life here.

So what does this have to do with Ciconia? The people that left Earth in search of a new home are most likely "They."
Haworthia's race can't stand Earth's natural conditions, like UV rays, changing seasons or even slight variations in temperature. Their ideal world is the one that Ciconia's was becoming. Right now they're drifting through space in cryosleep searching for the right planet for them. Of course, they'll never find it since a planet like that doesn't exist. That is unless technology on Earth develops to the point where it can become paradise for them once again.

What happens when they come back to Earth? Who knows? Whatever it is, it's bad enough that killing billions of people is a better alternative.
"That planet we once loved, which turned into hell for us, is paradise for them."
The reverse might also be true. Paradise for them, could be the machine hell Miyao saw.

This is all speculation of course but there has to be some connection here besides just Haworthia's songs being used in Ciconia. When the first two lines in Haworthia are “This planet has died.”“No, it’s probably been dead for a long time now.”it tells me there's something there.

At any rate, you can read the booklet and listen to the tracks yourself here if you haven't already.
