Well put, as much as I'd like to be able to support western creators it seems like the vast majority just aren't capable of creating something that isn't caked with memes and/or thinly veiled political ideas. I don't know whether to chalk this up to the idea that you need to "use your platform for good" being forced into people's minds, kids who grew up on meta-ironic memes and parasocial internet relationships, or the landscape of social media rewarding whoever screams the loudest, but whatever it is, it makes finding worthwhile creators in the west a nightmare. I want to believe this is just a vocal minority though and that most newfags focus on the source material and doujin content instead of gay shit like deepfried fumo memes and "marisa says trans rights!" type artwork.

It's way too late to complain about secondaries for Touhou of all things. Just stick to the content you want to see and ignore the shit you hate.
That being said, if someone makes fan content that respects the characters/setting or does something cool with it they're fine in my book, 1ccs or not.
