How did R07 works influence you?

Alright guys, I'm gonna write a love letter to Higurashi, particularly the question arcs, I have been putting this off for a while, as much as I love Kai, Umineko and all of 07th Expansion's works, there's something in the first four chapters of Higurashi (Onikakushi-hen is the strongest in this regard) that's just....... different? I can just break down in tears if I listen to this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELpphS1d8zc)) while looking at the picture I posted, I can't exactly explain why, I have never lived in a remote and small village, I never heard the sounds of the Higurashi when I was a kid, I wasn't part of a fun school club or spent my summer days surrounded by a bunch of cute and wacky girls I can't fully explain the feelings it evokes, it seems eerie and familiar at the same time, both beautiful and grotesque, I feel empty inside just talking about it, even remembering the often called shitty music of the originals I get hit harder than with most of the OST of Kai.

I hope someone here can understand part of what I'm getting at, I'm terrible at explaining these sort of things, to conclude I guess I have to say that Onikakushi and the question arcs will always be dear to me in an unexplicable way, I associate them with Summer, youth, nostalgia, lost things that will never return, it's just a sad and empty feeling, similar to one sided love but not quite the same.
