FYI, Chiune Sugihara is regarded as a Saint by some Orthodox Catholics, though he hasn't actually been canonized. Although that might not matter because the Orthodox Catholics have a much simpler canonization process than the Roman Catholics so if someone's treated like a saint they're basically a saint, I think.

>From their point of view, what happens if you become a saint?

I read somewhere that being made a saint offers nothing to the glory of the saints. It's for the sake of the people still living. Everyone needs a hero, and when Catholics make someone a saint they're saying "this person is a hero, look up to them."

And on a sort of unrelated note, some Eastern Catholics consider Chiune Sugihara a Saint though he's not been officially canonized yet.

Some Orthodox Catholics consider this guy a saint and he's not been canonized yet either.

Hey do Buddhists have any sort of canonization process for their saints?
