Congratulations and thank you to all the writers who participated in the contest this year! The line-up this year was absolutely packed with good stuff with a healthy number of both new and returning writers, and I am extremely happy with how it turned out. Most importantly, I hope everyone had fun writing and/or reading, and hope for another great year enjoying MGE.

Before I get into the score though, I need to say a quick few words to our new authors. Unlike last year, there was a much larger vote variance among the submissions. It’s important that you understand that everyone starts somewhere and at their own level. Some of us are also more comfortable jumping in head-first with a long or complex story rather than dipping out toes with something simple. I believe these things contributed to the larger gap in vote counts, and led to MysteryID’s story taking the largest share. Please don’t be discouraged. Your stories were appreciated and I hope you choose to continue writing in the future.

It's a process. I write at an absolutely glacial pace. It can take me an hour to write a single paragraph because I get too caught up in the shit that gets fixed at the editing stage. I'm learning that it's just best to vomit words onto the page and clean it up later. I can move, add, or delete whatever is necessary at the end.
Stick with it and try and have fun. It will come in time.

But it's now 2am and I need to sleep. Good night anons.
