It took me three months with 30 to 60mn a day of active forcing to begin feeling my first tulpa, like she was there in my head, and one month more to hear her first words. When I started forcing, I assumed at the very first session that she began to exist, then talked and imagined her with me whenever I could, always imagining her like a conscious and real entity that was slowly learning everything she could see and hear.
Maybe it helped that I was already losing touch with "reality" (ADHD, schizoid PD, depression and discovering otaku culture, mainly 2hu), but you've got to be at least a little bit fucked in the head to consider making tulpa. Not that it's a bad thing anyway.
Reality is what your mind think, not what the world wants to make you think.
