Put this sprite in particular to compare and it's definitely better than the fanmade lineart you posted. The only thing that needs tweaking is the outline. My main problem with the original sprites were always more the resolution and shitty outlines, but with that fixed it would be a blast to read with. Just wonder if an algorithm could also improve the original backgrounds.
