The point of bubbletea isn't the tea part, it's about combining natural flavors in a blender so that the product is "bubbly" due to the stirring and blending. The tapioca part is the pearls, not the bubble.
Don't buy the Chinese knockoffs with artificial powder flavorings btw it sucks ass. The tapioca they use had likely already been soaking for hours too so it'd taste all mushy and crumbly.
