Actually, that would probably work in some manner. I'd wager that it wouldn't be anywhere near as effective in air as it is in water, but she might be able to make it across a few metres in just as many minutes.
It'd probably just be more efficient for her to stretch out and stick onto a wall to pull herself towards places, though.
