So /jp/, let me share my story.

I was born in Austria while most of my relatives are Hungarian with a few exceptions, so I was super luckily allowed to have dual Hungarian-Austrian citizenship even though Austria frowns upon dual citizenships. Moved to US after some years and acquired a Green Card some 3 years back, so I have 2 until I can apply for citizenship. According to my sources, I should be able to keep all 3 if I go though some paperwork that takes a few months to get approved. Here's where the problem comes in.

My step-cousins are Japanese and have offered a place to live in if I were to move there. I would obviously finish uni in the US (got 2 more years) and get my citizenship and then move to japan on a possible worker visa for one of the jobs I could get using my degrees (dual computer science/mathematics). I know that Japanese visas can be extended for really large amounts of time compared to US visas which are rather limited. So here is where my questions come in.

How hard is it to get Permanent Residency status in Japan? I would most likely have a steady income with the degrees I have, and I know a job can contribute to this.

Does marriage affect residency? I mean I'm not looking to marry a Japanese woman but if I'm there you never know what can happen.

Is it actually true that you need to relinquish all other citizenships to get a Japanese one? This is quite a big problem for me.

I have searched some sources but some of it is conflicting information and I hoped you guys would have some background on this.
