REIDIIZU FASTO

because japanese women are (or were, before gaijin became so commonplace that it's no longer a surprise) suprised at wetsern men's 'manners' when it comes to things like opening doors, holding chairs out etc etc. Small things like that. Western men are not really any morally better, we are all the product of our upbringing and society. In Japanese society it's still all men first, men get served by waiters and waitressses first, in a group in a hospitality sector the all men are always greeted first, the women afterwards, men always speak first women afterwards, even when a couple goes somewhere, to a hotel counter or a checkin counter, or a bank e.g. to talk about their mortgage or a joint account and its in both their names, the staff wil always greet and the man first, they will not even acknowledge the wifes presence or even look at her before greeting the husband. It's very man-first. We here in the west have been raised with a mix of equality (no discrim, completely random who gets greeted or served first first) and active discrim the other way around (ladies first).

Japs, especially Jap women, are/were taken aback by this when they saw/experienced this with gaijin men. And they learned about the concept of 'ladies first'. So now western men are always associated with 'reidiizu fasto'. But if now they actually refer to gaijin men as 'reidiizu fasto's, I don't know if maybe at this point it's evolved and come full circle with the younger generation to the point where it's a bit of an insult, a mocking thing? Like referring to russians/slavs as 'cheeki breeki's or brazilians as 'sopa de macaco's? Calling gaijin men 'reidizu fasto's? I dunno. I guess it depends on manner and context.
