There will be two queues, VIP and GA, and you are required to have your regular ticket plus government-issued photo ID. A lady from Wonderful Union will walk down the VIP line at about 5-5:30 PM checking off people's names from her clipboard and handing out VIP lanyards, plus maybe the VIP gift. Sometimes she hands the gifts upon entry into the venue instead.

With merchandise it depends how the venue decides to do it but they don't like to put in the effort so you'll have to choose to go inside the concert hall or go to the merch stand. I strongly recommend you skip the merch at the start and go get them after the show since most if not everything will still be in stock if you hurry up right after Road of Resistance.
