This takes place in a city in northern Russia called Enzburg. Apparently there has been a series of killings that have happened by magical means and the sections of the town have been locked in perpetual season (like one area is spring, winter, summer, fall). It turns out this is the ancient homeland of the Einzberns and there is an organization led by 2 apostles that are digging up the remains of the Einzbern ancestors and using them along with data obtained from the other grail wars to create another holy grail war. Apparently there is also a secret KGB unit formed by the government during world war 2 to research ways to win the war via magical means and thought to be dissolved that wants the power of the grail and a lone CIA officer that is also involved

The story begins when Rin is on the way to Enzburg to investigate a series of mysterious deaths and culminates with the survivors caught in a massive three-way showdown between the forces of the dead apostles, the KGB army, and Morgan Le Faye while Gilgamesh fights on his airplane against Beowulf on his dragon.

One day I saw professor Lancer and Archer following Rin-sensei down the street.
