Singing "poorly" is the true nature of idol. It only adds to the energy manifested through song and dance. Its more fun it feels more real its more cute and most importantly it helps to create a stronger bond between you and your oshi even if that bond is illusionary.

That being said just because they sing "poorly" doesn't mean it sucks nor is it a lowering of standards. In fact it only heightens the greatness of the idol elite
