Rena and the Sonozaki twins are captured by a savage tribe of cannibals. The tribe ties the girls up and the chief approaches and explains "you must each pass a test, or we will kill and eat you. Go into the forest and bring back 10 fruits to begin the test."

The girls are cut loose and sent off into the jungle. Rena finds a lemon tree and begins taking lemons down, gathering them up in the folds of her dress. Shion finds a cherry tree and begins removing the fruits. Mion finds a pineapple bush and begins collecting pineapples.

Soon, Rena returns with 10 lemons. The chief stands her up on a small platform in front of all the villagers and explains "If you can squeeze all 10 fruits up your ass, we will let you live."

So Rena begins trying to shove the lemons up her butt. She gets 2 in, and about halfway through the third she can't take it anymore and fails, she pulls it out and the other two lemons fall out of her. The tribesmen then ambush her and throw her screaming into a large boiling pot of water and shut the lid on top, effectively killing her.

Just then Shion returns with her cherries. She too is stood on the platform and explained the rules. She manages to squeeze 8 cherries into her asshole. Just as she managed to fit the ninth one in, she suddenly erupted into laughter as all the cherries came blasting out of her ass. The tribesman scoop her up and drag her to the pot. Before they can toss her in, the chief commands them to stop. He approaches and asks her: "you were so close, why did you start laughing?"

Shion pointed over toward the clearing at Mion, who was now approaching, and said "Look over there! I saw sis coming out of the jungle!".

This point of no return thing creates a really intense atmosphere in any story.

I remember being at the edge of my seat reading Meakashi, especially when Shion answered that phone call the morning after killing Oryou and pretended to be Mion. She crossed the point of no return accidentally, she never had the intention to kill the grandma in the first place. But she died from the stun gun and now Shion's life is fucking over. From that morning onwards, she's living on borrowed time, because she can't keep pretending everything is fine inside the house forever.

I think crossing this line (accidentally, ironically enough) is what drove Shion to go through with her revenge. She knew she had just ruined her fucking life and would get found out eventually, so she had nothing to lose and decided she might as well go nuts.

Seriously, I really don't think Shion would've done what she did if she hadn't killed Oryou by accident. She just wanted to do something crazy and question her about Satoshi's whereabouts while pretending to be Mion to the outside world, even if there is an unbelievable punishment waiting for her once she's found out and Oryou is rescued by the main family.
