Also this is proving my point about trying to drown out any form of critique with engaging in a meaningfull discussion.

NOTE: For the sake of definitions I'll change my wording from Weeaboo to Otaku. I have changed a few other things about this original post in order to keep things clear. I admit that my previous OP might have been too close to trolling.

For the purposes of this discussion I am using the following definition of Otaku: "A person with a profound and unhealthy interest in, but not neccesarily limited to: Japan, Anime, VN's and related sub-cultures. In addition, they have an unhealthy, possibly sexual interest in fictional characters." I will revise and/or expand this definition further if necesary.

Otaku's are the new furries.
Furries and Otaku lurk on the internet in groups of their sub-culture, making sure to drown out any outside influences in a self-congratualatory environment.
Both go to cons to re-affirm their belief that they are not alone in their choices, and thus feel validated about their way of life.
Both claim to 'feel love' for something that isn't even human. Claiming you love an anime character isn't different from loving an antromorphic wolf.
Both sub-cultures like to take potshots at mainstream society without participating in it.
Both have their own vague hierarchical systems, not based on income, friends or status, but based on animes watched, figures owned, knowledge of Japanese language and such.
Both groups are extremely closed, making sure to drown all non-conformists and sources of critique.

For the sake of having a real discussion, please do not use the following:
*posts containing nothing but sage
*reaction images
*posts that are just greentext
*accusations of trolling
