Yeah, it was probably me who suggested the arcade stick. It helps a lot for grazing/flying, at least it helps me.

Also, as I have probably already told you, I played only with Suika during months (since Soku came out actually, I didn't play before), and I was probably one of the worst players around here. And I'm sure I was a worse player than you during all that time. When I decided that I wanted to stop sucking, I went to the good old:

Searched for Marisa. Read the whole page twice.
Went to the >Combos part. Went to practice mode. Practiced some Bread and Butter against a still opponent during a couple hours. Made a couple lunatic arcade runs with Marisa.

And then, I almost magically stopped sucking so much. I still suck, but at least now I can connect some moves. Even if I don't do a lot of limit combos, what's important is connecting moves without putting yourself in a disadvantageous position.

If you never took the time to read one of the wiki pages for one of the characters you want to play, you should give it a try. Maybe it wont work for you, but it definitely worked for me. Good luck, dude.
