That's really bizarre, I never heard about that chapter and I consider myself a pretty huge Peiko fan. It's worth noting that this was prior to her landing the Liella role and her future career/plans at SMA were up in the air still. After she got confirmed for Love Live they probably came to their senses and reverted to her well, less chuuni-sounding birth name.
Heh, the arrangement and kanji really make it sound something like a Vocaloid's name though, what a dork.
