Marisa really does exist, you know.

She's a little blonde girl who goes to a tiny public school, in a town nobody's ever heard of. It's a little ways off the Pacific coast. Very.... primitive. Can't tell you any more than that, for confidentiality reasons.

Marisa doesn't have any friends. Maybe it's because she walks around with a broomstick--she thinks she can fly on it, and this is really starting to alarm her parents and teachers-- or maybe it's because she's grown a habit of pointing her finger in a pistol-shape and yelling ZE~ when she's angry with someone or something, or maybe it's because she genuinely believes her little town, "Name Removed," is actually a gateway to Gensokyo.

Counseling doesn't help. Marisa thinks she's participated in epic battles with Cirno where she's really just been swimming in the bathtub with no hot water whatsoever, she thinks her bag of tiny nerf balls are "danmaku" prototypes. She spends a lot of time on her computer, mastering Lunatic modes and aiming for the high scores on all Touhou games. She goes by a different name on each, so you never know where Marisa's score might be. The counselor's can't convince her otherwise. They've considered institutionalizing her, but she's well-behaved, and she really doesn't mean any harm.
