It could work if the point was her trying to erase her past, but I doubt he's taking their futures in a cynical direction like that. Outside of the Polaris conflict, this is all clearly supposed to be a "good ending" of sorts.

Eh, Satoko briefly thinking about Irie is different from Rika talking about wanting to go back to the time of the club. Besides, they all built their own lives (well, aside from Mion who is just stuck in the same status quo somehow), while Rika in spite of traveling around hasn't been presented as having new contacts or anything.

In fact, the Hinamizawa people still caring for her so much when she's barely around seems rather forced too. The old people from these years would be the young adults from her time, not the old people who used to baby her.
