McDonalds is a franchise that repeats itself and does the exact same thing over and over again.

There is no Spirited Away 3: Yubaba's Revenge or Grave of the Fireflies: The Squeaquel. They don't manufacture films solely on the premise of selling action figures, it isn't like Pokemon or Digimon or even Dragon Ball Z, or hell even Disney.

That's on top of all the generic moe bullshit, which /jp/ (including myself) adores.

Otaku is an umbrella term for people with obsessive interests, it's doesn't just have to be 2D moe girls with cat ears or whatever. Metalheads are some of the most obsessive people ever when it comes to their music & culture. Plus this board is more about general Japanese in general, there's always threads about music, food, the language, pictures of daily life in Japan, Japanese bird making spaghetti, etc.

Otherwise this would've been banned and moved to /mu/ 90+ threads ago.
