You know what would've been better?
If we had a proper extra boss, and Matara was the phantasm boss instead.
It would make sense since she is a sage and even has a power vaguely similar to Yukari, it would feel like a throwback, HSiFS's incident even is related to the seasons (even if not as complex), just like PCB.
