I've been thinking about Ciconia a lot this week and I had a nightmare about it being delayed until early 2020.

Sounds like the OST disaster in the old Mangagamer release of Higurashi. They cut a lot of the music and made their own tracks to replace it, but they replaced like THREE tracks with ONE of their own (they did this several times with different tracks), effectively reducing the total number of tracks and making the music sound really grating and repetitive after a while.

As far as I know, the music patches don't really fix the problem because they can only replace 1 Mangagamer track (assigned to several scenes that originally had different music each) with 1 original track, so many tracks are lost even with the patch.

This company is a fucking mess and I hope they go bankrupt. They always fuck something up.

Yeah I think it really loses the meat of the story. Which was the intense air of mystery, general intrigue and wonder. I think 2-3 still had some of this, although admittedly less.

Then here comes 4-8, it just smashes that tone to bits with every single thing at it's disposal.

Want to have a consistent tone?
The final fight in between the cast and a fleet of pirate ships floating in an alternative dimension
Want an ending?
Fuck you post-modern figure it out yourself

Which sucks because the OST for 1-4 is legendary. 5-8 had some okay songs but is nothing compared to the original OST.
