The pills made the incense ineffective to Aya and Anon, and 'why' she did it was because she wanted to talk to Anon with a "clear" mind. Unless there's more to the 'why' than that. Also, I think it's funny that Aya and Yuyuko about did the same thing albeit different reasons, though cutting the effect of the incense would affect everyone and made Aya's pill plan a bit redundant depending on where you place them chronologically.
