The sight apparently managed to surprise Tenshi enough for her to stop rushing me, and she stood next to me and stared after the retreating girl. "Seriously, what did you do to her?" She asked, sounding bemused. I'd really need to sort that out at some point, I muttered as I shook my head and carried on walking. The village was coming to the end of Autumn, and preparations for Winter were well underway. Plenty of people were out, stocking up on supplies to see out the cold months. I remembered my house, and realised that I'd probably need to get over myself and get back inside there sooner rather than later, because I'd have to be coming by to clear the roof before long lest the place collapse.

Finally, Tenshi dragged me along to the café, then sighed in relief. "Looks like we beat them..." I stepped through the flap covering the entrance, blinked twice, then stepped to the side so Tenshi could get in. "What? What's wr-" She cut herself off and stared too.

Reimu and Marisa sat in the middle of the restaurant. "Ah, hello!" Reimu cheerfully said. "Nice of you to join us!" That was not the part that had me frozen, though. No, that was Kagerou Imaizumi, dressed in a waitress outfit that was just a little too...tight. She looked awfully embarrassed, too, clutching a tray over her apron as if it was a shield. Next to her was Oseki, also in her usual waitress attire, but looking far more relaxed. In fact, looking very smug. "How about you have a seat, and we can have a nice, long discussion about all the work you're going to do on my Shrine?"

"'Seki!" I heard the old man who ran the shop calling. "Get yer ass back here. Gotta bend yer ear on somethin'. Yer mate can handle those lot." If anything, Oseki's smile grew even wider as she spun on her heel, patted Kagerou on the shoulder, and slipped off into the kitchens.

Tenshi, now looking like a marionette with it's strings cut, slumped down into a chair opposite Marisa and Reimu. Marisa, who didn't look quite as smug as Reimu did, reached out and removed Tenshi's hat, then patted her on the head. "Can't win 'em all, buddy." She told Tenshi, who's head crashed into the table with a loud thunk.

"Uh-huh..." She mumbled into the table.

"S-So, um..." Kagerou stammered, approaching the table with her tray covering her chest. "What, er, can I get you...?" She looked like she wanted to die, so that made two people in the building. Her outfit had come with the addition of a wide-brimmed had, through which her ears poked out. Her tail was hidden beneath the dress. I assumed that she'd still have to keep up the pretence, so I asked her what the hat was about. "Just, um, fashion...I made the ears myself." She was entirely failing to look at any of us, so I stared for a moment, then asked for green tea. Tenshi mumbled the same into the table. "Er, okay...Um..." She looked entirely unprepared for everything that was happening, but finally turned and headed for the kitchens.
