You keep beating the same dead horse, read the diary again, she clearly says "What is it about me that is not enough?" Sakura Gakuin teachers are super harsh if they had seen Maaya lacking fucking effort they would have killed her and clearly that did not happened since she was pretty sure she was to be elected. Even Mori sensei told it on the interview:
