I didn't quite like Satoko when I first read the VN. It's not that I hated her, but I didn't care for her all that much. She was the weakest main cast member all in all, and doesn't have a very strong personality.
Tatarigoroshi was a pretty great chapter, but mainly due to Keiichi. And the whole "abused little girl" shtick got old pretty fast in all of the backflashes later shown. I originally agreed with Shion in Meakashi to some extent, though she was being too harsh on Satoko.
I got a little annoyed by her passiveness in Minagoroshi, and when she suddenly started acting up against Teppei thanks to Rika's encouragement years after her brother was already gone for her sake I legit got pissed at how little it suddenly took for her to act on her own.
So stop saying that Higurashi Sotsu/Gou "ruined" Satoko's character, she was always shit.
