Also Touhou might not be the hardest or most polished STG, but everyone has to admit it's probably the game with the most love and effort put in by its creator, and it shows. And I think that's why it has so many fans (excluding the mindless masses that haven't even heard of the games), it just warms my geeky heart playing it.
