And people accuse KC of making his girls not monstrous enough. Posts like these help prove that he has a pretty good middle ground.

Also whether an artist is "good" or not isn't determined by whether they go with what you think are proper designs for characters. There are plenty of artists who I can acknowledge as good even if I dislike their design choices.
