Appearance-wise she was inspired by Gradriel. Takeuchi agreed. But they made her blonde because Nasu loves blonde foreigners.

Personality-wise she's kind of this boring and bland character who usually dies like a chump. I ended up liking Rin and Sakura more.

So basically TM combined Arcueid and Gradriel into a Super Disney version called Saber.
