Except Rika's "attempts" to convince her friends include stuff like asking Rena to a jam a syringe in her body when she's already going crazy. She sucks at conversation.

Again, Rika herself admitted that she didn't put enough effort before and that she might have won already had she not been so passive about convincing her friends, these aren't my words, it's hers. It had nothing to do with memory leaks, since what the characters remembered isn't related to the crazy story Rika told.

Remember that Rika's attempts of convincing people prior to Minagoroshi can be as lazy as what she did in Tsumihoroboshi with Rena and the syringe. This isn't just conjecture, Rika herself pointed out how passive she had been in the past and that things would have been different had she been more assertive with her friends. The key takeaway Rika took in Minagoroshi wasn't that waiting for a miracle was the solution, it's that she gave up way too easily. Attributing her luck to a miracle like you said is what she thought was happening at first in Minagoroshi, that's why she thought she would never get a chance like this again, but much later on she realizes otherwise, which is why she ends up becoming hopeful for the next fragment as well in the end. Her conclusion was that miracles happen when everyone works together. She says that miracles would have happened in the past had she worked harder to talk to her friends instead of doing the absolute laziest attempts possible, as well as gotten everyone involved to help her, not just Keiichi.

For example, she doesn't even try to interject when Keiichi's about to give someone the doll, she just waits there, moping to herself about the fact that he's gonna give it to Rena again. Rika could have perfectly talked to him to make sure nothing bad would happen. It's only in Gou that she finally tries this approach, since it happens after Matsuribayashi. Bonus for the Gou manga showing Rika making sure Keiichi doesn't kill Teppei.

Rika also admitted that she had never tried what they did in Minagoroshi to save Satoko, so it was indeed for a lack of trying on her behalf.
