I'm pretty sure by making the gara blue-balls free and hyping it so hard, they made money hand over fist. Look at how many people rolled the piss out of it the first day! I've seen pretty much every new moebot at least 3-4 times.

If someone wanted to "collect the whole set" of $15 fangirls you'd spend $60... now, while that might make a lot of paying customers happy, the "no root scrubs" are still going to run screaming for the exits. Make it a gara, maybe fewer people will be willing to roll, but those that do drop upwards of $200 to get the whole set. I was also rolling for a C.S. (which I finally fucking got on my LAST, desperate 1x roll) so I probably could have gotten all 4, but I still lack a Byne Girl. Another guy I know also has all 3 except for A-girl and spent $200 pretty much exclusively on SUGOI rolls.

The TL;DR version of this is I'm pretty sure the gara made them a shitload of money. It's an interesting question, though, and I think I may ask Tempura during the radio show what day 1 of Malice vs Day 1 of SUGOI brought them in.

Honestly? I think I already know the answer, and it's not even anywhere close.
