I'm not deluded, my opinion just differs from yours.

Also, most romance nowadays is terrible. Just flip on the TV. Heroes, for example, adds a shallow new love interest for each character ever season, then discards them at the end and repeats the cycle. There's so much forced, token romance.

At least Beato/Battler is something different, and actually took the entire first half of the series to develop.
